I pray it is a hit and no one sues me for slander.

I make no apologies

To those of you who will read my book:

Dylan Hart's The Scene may be offensive to some readers. It contains more than one reference to one or more groups that do not portray them in a positive light. If you don't like it...too fucking bad. I make no apologies.

Within it's pages is a plethora of profanity, drug use, alcohol consumption, smoking, and adult situations. If this offends you...too fucking bad. I make no apologies.

Dylan doesn't do romance. While she does encounter a few delectable creatures Dylan never gets laid. Sorry ladies you'll have to get your rocks off somewhere else. If this is a problem for you...too fucking bad. I make no apologies.

For those of you who enjoy the occasional alcoholic beverage, profuse profanity, recreational drug use, the use of tobacco as a calming agent, violent and sometimes gory situations I hope you enjoy yourself. If you find Dylan Hart's The Scene to be entertaining, enlightening, or downright wondrous I thank you. Pass it on, scream it from the roof tops, tell all of your friends.

But dammit no matter what you do make no apologies.

Edit and Proof - The Scene is in it's final stages

Dylan's final chapters have finally come to fruition. The story has been told; we have a hero and a villain, a plot and a subplot and all the meat that fills it in. There is nothing left but to remove typos, check the tense, and make sure all is well.

Having finally completed a work that has been nearly 4 years in the making one would assume I would feel a sense of accomplishment. A sense of release at the thought my baby, that I have raised to maturity for four years, is nearly ready to be unleashed unto the world. The oddity is that I don't feel that way.

While I am filled with excitement and anticipation for the day of publishing, I am still not fulfilled. In fact, all I can think of is, "what will happen next?". That being said I am in the process of plotting the second installment of Dylan's Odyssey of the Occult. For this I am beyond ecstatic.

Cross your fingers and hold you breath for the first Dylan journey The Scene, which is set to be released Feb. 2012. Then keep your peepers peeled for book 2 later this year.

A teaser chapter for The Scene will be posted within my blog in the coming weeks. I hope you all love it-

It's fangtastic v-v !!!

Three Damn Chapters To Go

The story is careening out of control toward the final scenes. Bodies are adding up and scent of death is in the air like soiled socks. Dylan has been thrust into the scene of underground blood bars and vampires in search of the cause of the deaths of hookers in her hometown.

The last of the chapters are set to be completed within the next week followed by post proofing and such. The Scene A Dylan Hart Odyssey of the Occult will be available on Kindle and other ebook readers February 2012.

Follow my posts for further insights and future publications in the Dylan Hart Odyssey of the Occult series.

Musical Spawn - When Genres Collide

Are there music genres anymore?
Being forced to be a music buff since birth has granted me the ability to enjoy, or at least tolerate all types of music. I have my preferences yes, but I can appreciate good music and completely detest shitty music.

As of late, perhaps the last 10 years, I have come to realize the line that once defined each genre had blurred and at this point is basically nonexistent.

A long, long time ago, in a galaxy far away, we could enjoy rock music and it's spawns like punk, glam-rock, and death metal. The 80's brought the pop genre into the yuppy mainstream and introduced the ghetto to rap. Classical, jazz, and big band had their place in stereotypical ethos. There used to be country tunes which contained bluegrass, and....well, I'm kinda out of my element here but you get the idea.

In 2012 musical primordial ooze has evolved into a single entity with little distinction. Music connoisseurs worldwide are subject to either listening to only music pre-dating The Spice Girls and Limp Bizkit or the muddled, pre-packaged, sell-out, craptastic-musak we have today.

If you are confused about genres don't worry, you are not alone. Here is a list of genres (or sub-genres) and their offspring.

*Rock/Rap -Hip-Hopcore(Insane Clown Posse, Limp Bizkit)
Bros fo sho

*Modern Pop/Country -Pop-a-Billy (Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood,
basically any female vocalist.)
Crossovers are only sell-outs in disguise

*Punk/Easy Listening-Emo (Sorry it came with the name)
Enough said...

*Country/Rock/Rap -Good Ol' Bizoyz (Kid Rock, Uncle Kracker)
Dude, please, just pick one!

*Classical/Death Metal -Sonata-good idea (Nightwish, Tristania)
Ok, I have to admit I kinda like this genre...but that dudes chin braids have got to go.

If you have noticed I have missed some (potentially thousands of mixed genres)
please list your own in a comment box. Happy Listening!

Nicolas Cage is the king of falsies

I'm a vampire, I'm a real vampire.

Starring in one of my favorite vampire(?) movies of all time, Cage plays Peter Loew, publicist and aspiring vampire. After succumbing to the wiles of a vampire(?) and a series of bloodletting sessions Peter begins to believe himself a vampire(?). Avoiding the sun, eating cockroaches, and even donning fake plastic teeth in order to complete his transformation.

Resorting to eating pigeons and sleeping under his couch Peter begins stalking the night in search of tasty morsels and eventually the woman who "turned" him. Havoc ensues when Peter makes the rash decision he needs to die. You have to see it to know the rest.

In my humble opinion best flick in the  sub-genre . Adding a touch of skepticism and psycho hallucinations it toys with the idea of vampires without sinking its teeth into you.

Stuck Sucks

Approaching the end of The Scene; climax and finality's are sure to come. As of right now I got nothin'. My muse has left the building. Listening to One-Eyed Monster and Echo and The Bunnymen for inspiration to no avail. Damn you inspiration don't fail me now!

Who really enjoys a pair of fake ones?

Dylan Hart - Journalist Writer Sucker Bitch

Dylan Hart is the female protagonist in my upcoming novel The Scene (working title). After years of struggling as a freelance journalist Dylan has finally found her niche. Unfortunately, this niche has to do with investigating dead girls. These aren't your everyday dead girls in Hollywood mind you, nothing is that easy. There is of course a twist embedded in their deaths. That fact that all seven of the dead hookers have been exsanguinated sparks the interest of the media, no surprise there. Havoc ensues as Dylan and her friends dig deep into these murders. Dylan and her BFF Tatum drink, smoke, and cuss like fucking sailors throughout the bloody exploit that is The Scene. In short, someone bleeds, someone dies, someone drinks blood. Its a hellacious good time!

Keep up with Dylan and her sick sense of humor on facebook.

~The Scene should be released January of 2012 on Kindle and other ebook readers. Check out Dylan Hart and the others in their hilarious adventure into the unknown.

Popped My Cherry

This being my first blog I am a little uncomfortable, will it hurt?
I suppose I'm getting this started so I can share my trials and tribulations during my exalting venture into self-publishing and novel writing. That being said, I am nearly finished with my first book and am looking into marketing and publishing. When I say nearly finished I mean, I haven't even written the ending yet, but I have it all in my head. Too bad word vomit wasn't a reality, I'd have this shit finished and published by now.
If all goes well the new book should be out on Kindle and other ebook options by the end of January. In future posts I will give insights into the world of my characters, Dylan and Tatum. For now, cheers!
